New Knits

Devon had been itchin' to do something outside after all this rain we've been having. So I doubled it up and shot her in some new pieces while she ran amok (she never even knew she was working for me as well) Fitting that I found this great little umbrella print for our Rainy Day Leggings I'm always searching for a cute thermal print, but have a hard time finding any that aren't too juvenile. Too bad I only found enough of this one to make a few pairs. Devon's keeping hers, so (depending on sizes ordered) this listing could be the last one.

Sorta the same story with limited fabric for our new, one of a kind Stardust and Stripes cowl neck. It's a size 3T, super soft and great for little boys or girls!

Second Hand Love Kids

All vintage loving mothers must go check out Lisa and Sunny's new Etsy shop, Second Hand Love Kids. Lisa has the best eye for finding beautiful and unique pieces, and Sunny is the most adorable model with the sweetest smile. One of the best things I've found about being on Esty, is having the opportunity to meet other people in the community that are not only amazing talents, but incredible mom's as well. I consider them both good friends, although we've never met face to face.

Here's something that made me smile: it always makes my day to see happy super cuties workin' our tops out with their own style, but when they also sport kiddie tattoo's...well how could you not smile? Have a happy day everyone!

Velveteen Jackets

I finally finished up ten of these jackets and shipped them off to Sweet William (the new store in Manhattan just opened a few days ago) I love how they turned out, but probably will never do production (at least all by myself) on lined jackets again. Just grading the pattern to five different sizes and cutting out all the facing's (not to mention there was fur EVERYWHERE) took me many, many, many, days. My hands may never be the same again, but enough whining...doesn't Devon look cute? She wanted to wear make-up for this shoot, so I gave her a little blush and mascara. She was feelin' it:)

Wear a Smile

Throw on a positive statement necklace by PianoBenchDesigns (especially on a gray day like today) it's a fun way to spread smiles around.

...not really a positive word, but it made me smile anyways:)
Have a super happy day!

Say "Croissant"

Isaac found this recipe the other day and made us all super yummy, french toast croissants! The recipe calls for pecans, but since none of us are really pecan lovers, we just deleted the nuts...scrumptious!

Croissant French Toast with Pecans

Whisk together 3/4 cup half-and-half, 3 large eggs, and 1 tsp. vanilla extract.
Dip 4 day old croissants, halved, into mixture.
Cook 1/2 cup chopped toasted pecans, 1/2 cup honey, and 2 Tbsp. butter in a saucepan until hot. Keep warm.
Melt 1 Tbsp. butter in a nonstick skillet or griddle over meduim heat. Add 4 crissant halves; cook until golden brown. Repeat.
Serve with honey mixture. Makes 4 servings.

Morning Smiles:)

I'm feeling super stressed lately, so now more than ever it's very important to keep things in perspective and work on beginning each day in a positive mind set. Since I've always had a really bad habit of being a "critic" and tend to get easily caught up in "negative thought trains" I've decided that "things that make you smile" posts every Tuesday are the way to go. So we'll start it off with the most obvious things that make people smile- "good morning" smiles! These guys are some of the very first morning faces that I see since they sit neatly on top of our kitchen window- right by the coffee maker:)
Speaking of coffee, it's pretty much one of the first "needs" that pops into my head every morning. So I made it a priority to get a happy mug (and yes, I bought myself a "Mom" mug- on the back it say's "you're the best!")
After my coffee ritual, it's time to tend to our pets: Bik Wu and Billy (our dogs) and BooBoo (the bunny) Of course, I love them all but Bik Wu always has the warmest and fuzziest morning smile
About an hour after I wake, Devon gets up. Her puffy eyed, sleepy morning face is the BEST!

Ragamuffin

Devon just got over a really weird 24 hour cold. She hardly ever gets sick, so I was sorta flippin' out a little during the night when she had a fever and super stuffy nose (mainly because she refused to drink ANYTHING and I was so worried about dehydration) Luckily, she was totally over it by morning (my tuff girl) I was even able to get her out of the house to shoot this batch of dresses (that I'm shipping off to Sweet William) next week. Finally, I'm using this vintage "Peter Rabbit" print (and in a way that the "slavery" scene is completely deleted, YAY!)
